ARUNERA takes its root from the Khmer word for daybreak — អរុណ / arun. We chose the name because Cambodian craft does not need to be invented; it only needs to be witnessed.
The name comes from arun — daybreak. We chose it because Cambodian craft does not need to be invented, only witnessed. ARUNERA is a curation house, not a marketplace: we do not list, we select, and we sign our name next to the choice.
We do the field work, the price talk, the inspection, and the shipping ourselves. Every object arrives with a record card carrying the maker's name, province, hours worked, and the share that flows back to them. That card is our entire product.
We buy the

Field first
Four to six weeks on site, living next to the workshop, watching the full process before any partnership is discussed. No samples up front.

Price before production
Wages and the maker's share are agreed before work begins. They do not float with retail, and we do not renegotiate down when stock sells slowly.

Small runs
No more than 60% of a workshop capacity is taken in any season, leaving room for repair, teaching and rest.

The record card and the online page stay in sync and remain queryable after sale, including the maker and the share of each batch.
